Stacking processors

Post by jmcdougall »

In an effort to work within a space constraint, I am looking to stack two Prostarts. How much space should I leave between them to avoid overheat issues? They will be living with an air temp of 80 - 95 degrees ambiemt temp.

The parts are tested to ambient temperatures of 85 C and rated to chip core temp of 150 C. (all in the NXP spec sheets)

They consume 20-30 mW so not a lot of heat generated, depends a bit on are they going to be enclosed, any air movement (ventilation holes).

I doubt there would be much of an issue, though I would probably mount them of 1/4 inch spacers.
