FTDI Chip Wake Windows Computer

Post by tjtrolinger »

I would like to wake a Windows computer from the ARM7 Microcontroller.
I see the board uses the FT232RL which does support USB wake from sleep according to FTDI. Their documentation says that function must be enabled in the FT232RL configuration.
I used their configuration tool (FT_Prog) to determine that the function "USB Remote Wakeup" is enabled on the FT232RL chip on the ARM7 Microcontroller.
When I manually pulled pin 6 (RI#) low on the FT232RL while the Windows computer was asleep, it does not wake.
The Windows driver does have the "Allow this device to wake the computer from sleep" checked.
The computer wakes normally with other devices like the mouse and the keyboard.
Any ideas why this is not working?
Ultimately, I would like to connect pin 6 of the FT232RL to one of the IO pins on the ARM processor so it can wake the computer. Maybe this should also be considered for future versions of the ARMmite?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
TJ
