Diode D3 Blown?

Post by danlee58 »

I had my SuperPro board powered through the USB connection. I inadvertently shorted the 5 Volts to ground. I think that I drew excessive current through D3. Now my board is dead.
Can It be repaired?

I could try to power it with another source through another port to see, if that works.

also check the traces to see if they delaminated (they have a bubbly look to them) from the pcb, and/or just plain burned up.
Been there - done that. Olzeke51

I jumpered around D3. The board is OK now. I don't need to use another power source, so this will work.
