I saw in the NXP UM10360 user manual for the LPC17xx series that UART1 supports
full modem flow control (CTS1/RTS1) signals. Is there any way to access these
pins on the ProPlus?

Never mind, I found them. Need to use PINSEL1 or PINSEL4 to configure GPIO pins
for modem control signals.
(Not mentioned in Chapter 15 on UART1, look in Chapter 8)
