5V inputs and outputs

Post by YahooArchive »

I have a board with 5 Volt logic and a 5.0 Volt supply. I want to jumper the 5.0
Volts to an Armmite (5 - 12 V) board, and connect a signal to EINT0 (pin 14),
and output a signal from PWM8 (pin 11). The Armmite does a simple frequency
multiply using HWPWM.

Where can I connect the 5.0 source so it gets regulated to 3.3 Volts?

Do I need and special precautions when connecting a 5 volt signal to EINT0?

I believe that 3.3 Volt output is sufficent for my 5 volt output driver.

Details on hooking to 5V logic in the Hardware section of the help files
TTL and other interfacing.

Basically the rules are its OK to hook to TTL outputs, but if you want to hook
to the 5V supply you need a limiting resistor.

Also in that section, on the Pin Diagram page, Vin is where you want to bring in
5V (don't connect a supply to the 2.5mm power connector at the same time, or one
of them will be unhappy.
