Is there a Digital Signal Processing option.

Post by AtlantaRobotics »

I am taking a graduate EE class in Digital Signal Processing and the instructor is trying to find a cheap easy to implement microcontroller/microprocessor that is designed to implement DSP code. Preferably with sample code. Is there an Coridium board that is meant for DSP? If not what would be the best Coridium option? Cheaper the better since students will have to be purchasing these. Thanks in advance.

For a custom design customer we have been using an LPC4078. We've made use of the FPU, but have not used the DSP extensions yet. For code testing we built up a few on the PROplus PCB.

If you order 10 or more we'll build a special run at the PROplus price. CodeRED, LPCware, and/or ARM have code examples for the DSP extensions.

We've been thinking of using the LPC4078 (which has FPU and DSP extensions) in a form factor similar to the SuperPRO. But we would add an SDcard socket to build a data logger (deleting the battery and barrel connectors to make room).

Maybe we could customize it for your application as well, let us know.
