Eclipse support

Post by YahooArchive »

I have successfully built a Makefile for use in Eclipse to build C projects for
my ARMmite but the final step of starting the program fails. From compilation to
flash loading works great. If I perform a file compare to a .hex created in
MakeItC to that from my Eclipse make, they are exactly alike. There is evidently
one more step, pressing the reset on the board does not start the program and
interestingly loading my hex file via the MakeItC interface into the board does
not work either. I am thinking a little Python routine to flip the (I think) DTR
bit to boot the machine may be needed (but surely the same as pressing reset).

My goal is to build out an integrated development environment with multi-module
structure and most of my other develoment work is in Eclipse - keeps my
environments cound down.

Anybody successfully done this integration?

Tony.

I Should add I did read Lynch's article for doing this but in the end I used
Coridium's tool chain to make this work with my own Makefile. Much simpler to
perform.

Oops, perhaps I should learn how to use a difference utility ;). The files do
not compare, need to fix this first.

Ignore, got it working, was picking up the wrong .elf due to forgetting to
change a command parameter.

While we're not going to directly support Eclipse (can't really as we don't use
it). Would you post a link to the version you downloaded, one of the things I
noticed when downloading open source code, is trying to find the latest, and
filtering out all the "bug reports" for older rev's of the software.

i have recently come into possession of an armmite pro and was wondering if
there were concise instructions available for setting up a toolchain on linux to
program this intriguing little device in c.

does corridium provide any libraries specific to it that i can perhaps extract
from what appears to be a self-extracting zip file that i found somewhere on
their website.

not afraid to build it myself. just want to know what to build.

thanks,

bobby

If you can stomach Eclipse, Yagarto.
(the yagarto installation page gives you an idea what you need to do)

I prefer to get the toolchain from CodeSourcery, and hook it up to your favorite
editor. You will also need the LPC lib, the name escapes me at the moment. And
OpenOCD, I use the Olimex USB Tiny device. The CS compiler supports NXP/LPC and
STM32 devices.

The Yahoo Group 'LPC2000' is your biggest friend.

Linker scripts are the worst part.

good luck.
