RSIR and reset

Post by YahooArchive »

according to p. 60 of the LPC2101/02/03 manual UM10161 rev. 4, POR (power-on
reset) clears all other reset bits including EXTR, which is asserted either with
the ARMmite rev. 2's reset button or DTR. is there an error in the
documentation, or does the FT232R or other component of the ARMmite2 assert DTR
on powerup? I'm finding, on checking RSIR, that both POR and EXTR are set on
powerup, whether via USB or external power. thanks -- jc

On the ARMmite, PRO, PROplus and SuperPRO there is a resistor to 3.3V and cap to
GND that pulls reset low setting EXTR

Kind of an old habit, adding this circuit to micros, though the internal POR
circuits now work quite well
